  • For a point-and-click game, Five Nights At Freddy's contains a surprisingly detailed plot, complete with lore and extensive theories. This game adds further background to the plot.

Five Nights At Freddy's 2 is the sequel to the popular first game of the Five Nights at Freddy's series. In this version, you play as a security guard for the Freddy Fazbear's Pizza and must use limited resources to protect yourself from the evil mascots at the restaurant. At the same time, the game goes into further depth about the FNAF universe, revealing more about the location, security guard, and deadly animatronics that can murder you at almost any moment.

Story

Five Nights At Freddy's has now seen multiple releases and contains a significant amount of lore. In this version, you return to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Restaurant where you must again do battle against sentient and evil mascots.

The game opens with an employee calling you up and explaining your job, as well as the various tools you must use for your success. This is a fantastic way of not only explaining the way the game works but also adding to the lore of the series. According to this employee, mascots are programmed to use facial recognition to attack criminals onsite. They also are supposed to walk from room to room, searching for noise. This explains why YOU are always their target.

If you are found, the mascots will assume you are simply a mascot without a costume and will respond accordingly: By stuffing you into a spare Freddy Fazbear suit. This, of course, results in your death.

This mystery employee appears throughout the game, alerting you to new mascots and helping you make sense of their evil patterns.

Gameplay

Five Nights At Freddy's 2 is a point and click game. You play as a security guard and cannot leave your security office, even as the mascots move. You must rapidly shift between a variety of security cameras in order to track the mascots movements and ensure that they are not getting too close to you. You have a limited amount of tools available, including a flashlight, masks, and more. These tools can be used to scare off the mascots and allow you to survive the night.

This game is all about quick reflexes, resource management, and pattern recognition. Certain mascots can be frightened off by the flashlight, others masks, others neither. As such, you have to think quickly, pushing mascots back while watching three of the entrances to your office. If a mascot makes it in, you're dead, and one of Five Nights at Freddy's legendary jump scares will signify that you lost the round.

This game also adds to the lore by unveiling a series of mini-games that are done in the style of old-school video games. By playing them, players learn more about the troubled past of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Restaurant, including the alleged mass murder of five children that took place at the very location you are working at.

Your job is to survive five nights in the game, with each round taking a little longer than seven minutes. Your job, quite simply, is to survive.

On the whole, Five Nights at Freddy's 2 was believed by most players to be an improvement on the previous version, with the removal of the power limitations on some of the cameras and tools viewed as a major improvement. This came is frightening to its core and does an excellent job of integrating its plot-heavy story into its masterful gameplay.

Pay a Visit to the World’s Scariest Restaurant

When Five Nights at Freddy’s was released, it was hailed as being one of the scariest games of all time. Fans of the horror film genre immediately jumped on board, as well as jumping out of their skin as they became spooked by the realistic graphics and chilling storyline. The second instalment is said to offer even more gruesome moments than the original. Is Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 really that scary and exciting? Find out here.

Once again, players are invited to enter the world’s scariest pizza restaurant and explore as they take on the role of a night watchman. As you might expect, this is no easy job and failing to stay alert and react quickly enough may well get you killed. In fact, getting through all five nights is very, very hard.

In the second instalment of this chilling game, the pizza restaurant has reopened for business and has undergone extensive refurbishment. In addition to new decorations, the restaurant has also received a new spooky cast of characters who join Freddy the bear and his old cronies. As you might expect, these cute and cuddly characters don’t stay cute for long and their psychopathic tendencies soon come out to play. The characters prefer human brains to pizza and are ready to feast on any brain that comes their way, including yours.

Players are stationed on their own in a control rooms and have to use the security cameras to watch the characters and make sure they don’t enter your office. Dropping your guard for even a second could easily mean that you are savaged to death. This time there are no convenient doors between you and a gruesome death and you must use your Fazbear bear mask to convince them that you are one of them to stop them from attacking.

It is necessary to watch a total of eleven characters at the same time and you have to be extremely quick on the draw to survive. The terrifying sound effects from the first game are back in full force and are sure to make even the most jaded players run screaming from their computer to the safety of the kitchen from time to time. The eerie sound of the jack-in-the-box manages to create suspense unnervingly well, while the shuffling of feet and static hiss from the cameras all add an extra dose of menace to the mix.

There are three entrances to the security office; a doorway leading into the hallway and two air vents at either side of the room. None of these can be sealed in any way and it can be tricky to know where the threat will come from next. The air vents feature a light that players can use to check for crawling characters, although as soon as you do this your attention will be diverted and you may miss an attacker from another direction. The jack-in-the-box is placed in the room with you and will attack as soon as the music stops, so you must make sure you keep it wound up at all times.

Just like the original, the storyline is interesting and well explained. Your character is security guard Jeremy Fitzgerald, who receives a call at the start of the game asking him to work at the pizzeria. During the phone call the story and the game play are explained, along with the special facial recognition software and animatronics. This is a neat touch that helps players feel like they are a part of the game from the very first moment.

More animatronics appear as players advance through the game, which helps to add to the level of difficulty. The same storytelling aspect is utilised to explain how their animatronics move, a little background information and how to keep them at bay. The man on the phone also calls back regularly to warn your character about additional dangers and threats. Players who manage to survive through to the fifth night receive a phone call promoting them to a new restaurant with the promise that new fun and frights await them.

The main difference between Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 and the original is that this version is a lot more difficult. Players can choose to change the difficulty level on ten of the characters, which can help to make things a little bit easier. However, this game is still incredibly hard and many people may find that they are forced to throw in the (blood soaked) towel long before they complete it.

It goes without saying that Five Nights at Freddy’s is not aimed at children, although kids who have a love for the macabre are sure to be drawn to it. The adult content and the advanced skills that are needed to complete the game, or even survive for more than a few hours, may not appeal to everyone. However, the game caters to its fans well and the excellent graphics, imaginative storyline and all the other aspects combine to make this possibly one of the best gruesome games to date.

Five Nights at Freddy's became one of the top horror games of all time upon its release, and the developers are now back with a brand new game that picks up where the last one left off called Five Nights at Freddy's 2.

Like the original game, you play as a security guard working in a pizza restaurant called Freddy's late at night. The restaurant features animatronic animals that dance around during the day to the delight of guests but then come to life at night to terrify you. When a malfunction causes those characters to come to life, you'll need to use all the resources available to survive the night. While many of the treasured characters from the first game return, this one also comes with some new characters too.

The full game comes with seven terrifying levels, but the demo only lets you play one level. Each level takes place over the course of the night. As it gets later and as you get to later nights, the animatronic characters will come at you faster and with more strength. You spend each level in the control room with monitors showing you all areas of the restaurant. Every time one of those characters comes close to the door to your office, you'll grab a mask and a flashlight, run into the hallway, and scare them away.

While it might sound like a simple game, Five Nights at Freddy's 2 is anything but simple. It's hard to keep an eye on each monitor, and you risk more characters jumping out of the shadows when you turn your back for even a single second. The faster you move, the better you will do in the game. If you're too slow, you'll experience one of the trademark jump scares of the franchise.

Five Nights at Freddy's 2 includes a new feature that lets you customize one of the ten characters in the game. Not only can you change the way they look, but you can also change their ability to scare you. When you choose the highest level, it's almost impossible to survive the whole week. With creepy music and jump scares around every corner, it's not surprising that those who love Halloween and unsettling horror movies love Five Nights at Freddy's 2.
